My white stuff baby

Like most moms, I’ve had and am still having my fair share of guilt, frustrations and disappointments. But right now, I’m thinking that I’m having more than my fair share. I’ve been having a very difficult time feeding my toddler. She’s almost 2 years old but still needs to learn to eat more solid food. I actually feel quite guilty about it, having had to start her with Gerber at 6 months despite other parents’ advice that most Gerber babies become picky eaters. And I found that out for myself a bit too late. After her first spoonful of Gerber Squash, she wouldn’t take anything else. Later on, I just felt lucky that she also liked Gerber carrots but that was about it. Those two seem like they’re all she’ll ever eat.
After her first year, she eventually began tasting rice and cereals but did not like them as much as she loved Gerber. We decided to introduce several options by taking her out to try different restaurants. And alas we found out that she adores pasta and that she particularly loves carbonara, alfredo or any white pasta sauce. Among her faves, Sbarro baked Ziti topped her list. Well, she actually likes the Sbarro menu specifically their White Pizza, both the white and Chicago deep white. Needless to say, my daughter is now a major fan of white food.
You might be wondering what she eats at home. Well, for most part she asks (and I mean asks) for “Egg”. Potatoes are also a staple for her but her appetite at home is not as good as when we dine out at her choice restaurants which serve her favourite white stuffs.
It is difficult for us and I really don’t have clue on how to change her taste buds now. Problems is, dining out is really quite costly and my budget is taking the toll for it. Besides, my husband and I would really love to try other places that don’t serve pasta or pizza. I mean, were just sick and tired of it. But my baby doesn’t seem to notice. She has the same kind of appetite every single time she sees white on her plate. I’m looking forward to her 2nd birthday because we’d soon see her doctor. This issue would surely top my “ask the doctor” list this time.

Cebu Adventure with Hubby

I had wanted to post this since forever but did not have the time or just did not remember to have the time.  I wanted to just share about this very organized albeit sablay itinerary of mine.  Well what the heck! I consider myself an expert travel planner. Having planned countless office and family local and international trips, I even thought of putting up my own travel agency just to remind me of how good I am in travel planning.  But there are of course trips that will always run into some setbacks and even unforeseen delays and even stops that may altogether throw your plans out the window. This Cebu trip with my dear hubby was probably one of those. But if you ask my husband, this was probably on his toplist of our most unforgettable trips ever. I usually plan out by hour but since there are items in the IT that's not very familiar to me (sardine run etc), I thought to leave out the time and just run with whatever the day brings.   So here how it all ...

How knowing SEO changed my career path

It's been more than a year since I took the SEO specialization course from Coursera given by UC Davis Extension program. And boy is it a great pivoting experience so far.  As one who have been in the practice of market research for more than 20 years, venturing into a totally new field is not only nerve-wracking but also defining.  It changed my career path unexpectedly even at age 40.   It was also last year that I have concurrently been assigned as Head of SEO/SEM for the entire conglomerate.  And because of that, I have been able to practice SEO not only with one website but with 12.  One year later, I've seen these websites grow impressions by 1k% and traffic by 500% because of organic and local SEO.  It actually surprised me how powerful SEO really is in achieving traffic goals which will help you eventually grow leads. We now have a steadily increasing number of leads across the 12 brands.  But recently I have been trying to assess if I were...

Remembering our last travel before the pandemic...Part 1

Every once in a while I find myself in a trance.  I pause to reflect on what is happening in the world.  The feeling is overwhelming.   I recall the year that was. Then I remember the year before. The Pre-pandemic. What it meant for me then and what it means to me now. A world of difference. Something that I may never be able to go back to ever again. 2019...That year was when I backpacked with my husband from Vietnam to Cambodia to Thailand by land and air in 6 days- an awesome feat for someone with a chronic illness like me.  Manila to Ho Chi Mihn was supposed to bea  normal uneventful night flight but turned out to be a traumatic experience for our first time in Vietnam.  The taxi driver duped us into letting him count our money and with his quick hands was able to snatch at least P1,000 worth of Dong money from us.   We actually stayed in 2 hotels in Vietnam both of which were not worth mentioning at all.  Both were 2 star hotels whe...
